MPoD

Music Player Daemon (MPD) allows remote access for playing music (MP3, Ogg Vorbis, FLAC, AAC, Mod, and wave files) and managing playlists. MPD is designed for integrating a computer into a stereo system that provides control for music playback over a local network. It’s a great solution to link a headless computer system to your audio installation.
The iPhone or iPod Touch makes for an ideal companion to MPD with the introduction of MPoD. An intuitive and great looking interface makes it very easy to browse through a large collection of songs (my own is 10.000+), and find the album or song that you want to hear.

In the spirit of MPD and open source software, MPoD is available free of charge from the AppStore. That said, I put a lot of time into building and supporting it, and I have to pay for hardware, software and developer licenses. Therefor I’ll be happy to receive any donations, small or big, into my Paypal account to support me in my software development. Clicking on the Donate button will take you to the secure Paypal donation site.

Would it be feasible to add a genre browser in the next release? Thank you.

    Hi,
Love your app, I think it is really nice!
However, after upgrading to the latest version, the client loses connection with the server if I don’t use it for a couple of minutes (while the server is still playing music)
Is there any way to downgrade to 1.2.1?

    Tnx,

    Ard.

Hi, thank you very much for your new MPod Release, it does have some nice features! One question, how can I seek a song? Thank you!

Hi, I love your program. One thing missing from making it perfect tho. It should be possible to enter several servers. And easy switching between them. That way it could control several servers in the house with easy switching. Kind og like SONOS and so on…

Hi, I have a problem connecting with Ubuntu 9.04. It give the couldn’t connect to mpd server error, although I can access mpd from mpc on the server computer. I don’t have any firewall running currently. I haven’t tested the mpd from another network pc. I’ll do that and report back. Meanwhile, what do you think might be the problem?

Check your MPD config file — if you have specified a bind_to_address then that’s the only one that MPD will respond on — so if it’s set to, for example, ‘localhost’, you will only be able to connect from the server itself… u need that address to be one that’s resolvable by both the server and your client machine…

Love your client, it makes using my NMT worth using with music. I have a couple of suggestions.
    1. The shake needed to randomise is pretty extreme. Could the magnitude be reduced?
    2. A button to shuffle the current playlist, or play it in random order.

    Thanks

Would it be possible to have to enable/disable outputs (using ‘enableoutput’ and ‘disableoutput’)?

I have been working on a RAOP/AirTunes/Airport Express output plugin, and it would be really convenient to be able to turn them on/off through this app.

Hi, is there a way to select a complete album to play without adding one track at a time? Thanks!
