Shake-day at Katoemba

Today was ’shake-day’ at Katoemba. First I bought the new Wii game Warioworld - Shake It! for my kids. And staying in that shaking spirit, I implemented a shake’n’shuffle feature in MPoD that will choose a random album to play if you shake your iPhone. Not very original given that the new iPod’s already do this, but still a nice feature.

Also this week I’ve made improvements to the now playing screen, to get rid of the sluggish performance that various people have been reporting. I expect to submit the new version for AppStore review in the coming week.

MPoD version 1.1.1 in the AppStore

Icon.png Version 1.1.1 of MPoD is available in the AppStore. This is a minor bugfix that prevents the startup crash in case you have upgraded from a previous version.

It doesn’t add any new functionality, so if the previous version runs fine for you there is no need to upgrade, allthough it won’t hurt either.

Update to v1.1 crashes MPoD on startup

I can (unfortunately) confirm that after updating MPoD to version 1.1 it will crash on startup. This appears to have something to do with the additional user preferences that are not correctly loaded when you do an update.

As some have already reported, de-installation followed by a fresh install solves this problem. Please follow the re-install route until I fix this problem.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Version 1.1 of MPoD available in the AppStore

MPoD v1.1 has been approved by Apple, and is available through the AppStore now. This new version brings a number of improvements that you have been asking for:

  • Improved startup performance for the ‘Now Playing’ tab
  • Search in artists, albums and songs
  • Support for playlists
  • Choose between ‘replace playlist’ and ‘add to playlist’
  • Pause button
  • Play random album
