MPoD 2.2 available

Icon.png This version brings back a couple of features that many people missed:

• Cover view
• Seek in tracks
• Display track quality
• Database cache loading progress view.

Furthermore there are significant changes to cover art handling:
• Loading local cover art is improved
• Cover art retrieval from Discogs and Amazon has been removed. Because of the rules and limitations that these services are now placing on the use of there services, they became unusable.

    Hi.
I downloaded the “2.2” version of mpod from iTunes, but it still shows “2.1” on the “About” tab of the app (both on my iPhone 3GS with iOS 6 and iPad with iOS 7.1.1.

I’m confused about what version I’m actually using (although there are no updates on iTunes).

On the iPhone, it doesn’t show any cover, while it does on the iPad (I’m still talking about mpod).

The most annoying thing is that I have the ability to fast forward/rewind inside a track, but mpd stops playing music after that.
If I use the web interface of mpd (Volumio, in my case), I can forward or rewind without any problem, so I guess this must be something wrong with mpod.

If these issues could be solved, I believe that this will turn out a great app.

I’m considering buying the MPAD version, but it will be somehow pointless if this issue isn’t solved, so I’ll wait a bit.

    Thanks

The version of MPoD in the AppStore is 2.2, it incorrectly still states ‘2.1’ in the about screen. MPaD is still at version 2.1.

Cover art from external sources (amazon, discogs) has been disabled in version 2.2, because of limitations that these services have added over times. Those limitations have made them to unpredictable, and not working most of the time.

When you fast forward in the other app, does it seek continuously or only after you stop seeking? MPoD is continuously seeking and this may overload the player with too many requests, which I can look into.
