I’m not planning on adding bonjour in the near future, as it provides insufficient value compared to the effort needed to implement it.

I was wondering if it would be possible for mpod to support bonjour/avahi? Maybe as a supplement to the preconfigured hosts. This would allow mpod to pick up the configuration automatically at say a friends house.

This should be possible, but don’t expect it anytime soon, as I have almost no time to spend on the project right now.

- I’m not sure if the volume switch can be accessed. The next version will have a different way of changing the volume anyway.

- Showing the URL should be possible.

- I find the functioning of the blue button the logical way: it plays everything on the level where you are. This will stay as it is.

- Browsing the directory view in the way you describe it is not possible in MPoD unless I completeley rewrite the internal data structures. Looking at how much time I spent on optimizing those to maximize performance, that’s not going to happen.

- The value on the volume slider is picked up from MPD, however if the connection is not immediately available it might show 100% as a placeholder. I can change that, allthough it will not have any functional effect.

I’m using it since a while in combination with MPD running on a Synology NAS.
If you’re open to wishes from your customers, here are a few:
- Enable the volume control switch on the latest iPod touch
- If a playlist contains an URL (e.g. internet radio), show the URL (similar to Willems request above)
- Configure how the ‘>’ button works. Sometimes it’s confusing when adding songs to the list. On the artist level it collects all songs of that artist across multiple albums. At the album level (1 step deeper) it collect all songs from that album.
- Directory view. I know that there is a switch in the config section, but it does not have any effect on the browsing behavior. Sometimes, I prefer browsing along the directory hierarchy.
- Default volume initially is always 100%. Can this be configured?

Cheeta! Can’t wait till next release.. While you’re at it, could you replace “unknown song” with the file name, if applicable? Not all my music is id3 tagged, besides I compiled mpd without libid3 to make it run faster on my embedded device. Thanks a lot!
