  1. thorsten:

i’ve installed MPoD on my iPhone today. Will you support the mpd password in future versions?

  2. Berrie:

I’ll have a look at passwords, I personally don’t use them in my setup so it wasn’t a requirement yet.

  3. Flo:

Yes, passwords would be very nice indeed ;-)

  4. gino:

    Thans for the app.
But in my iPhone EDGE with FW 2.0.1 I can’t see the setting page.
So,I can’t connect to the server.
    I’ll wait the 1.1

  5. Berrie:

The settings page is under the overall system preferences (like Apple suggests it). Version 1.1 will bring it into the application because that is more convenient.

  6. gino:

    Find it!
But now MPoD crash on start.
I’ve shorten the playlist to 7 tracks but it crash anyways.
I use the default port and no password.
    I’ll keep waiting 1.1 ;)

  7. Martin:

Thanks for the great software. I was really waiting for it and checking everyday ;-)
Works for me on IPod touch FW 2.0.1 without much problems.
Unfortunately the HTTP-Streams which I have in my playlist are not shown in the MPOD Current PLaylist although thee next/prev button works fine with them. No crashes so far …

And maybe some feature which might be nice to add for future releases/updates:

    - be able to browse/load/view the saved playlist which MPD sees
    - Don’t start playback immediately when I browse through artist/album/etc. and select it. Rather have a ‘Play button option’ and display the contents or add to current playlist when selecting one item. Or make an option in the settings for this.

    Thanks again for these software

P.S. I will be happy to beta test newer version/updates.

  8. Berrie:

Support for saved playlists will be in v1.1.
The second request I have thought about, but would be going a bit against the interface guidelines: the blue marker shows additional details, while clicking on a row actions it. I must admit that it’s easy to mistap in practice.

  9. Martin:

Yepp, that was it for me … I had the feeling that the blue marker started playing immediately too but I just did not hit it. Maybe as a suggestion exchange the function of the row and the blue marker? (marker: start playing, row: show info) That way it does not happen that you start playing the music unless you really want it …

How about a blue marker on the lowest level (song display) as well? Hitting the marker will start immediately while taping the row will add the song to the end of the current playlist. I believe MPD would support this.

Just some suggestions and again thanks for the software …

  10. Berrie:

I’ll take your suggestions into account (no promises though :-) ).

  11. Paul-Andre:

I installed it the day it came out. Since then I’m trying to understand how that THINK works.
I’m on Windows and I don’t know any thing about sources stuff that need to be compress….
I maybe sound spool but I m use to download and install and it’s works.

Sorry the idea sounds and looks very good, but not every body knows the compressing stuff.
Give me the binary file for Windows for the server and it will be a good start…
    Thank
    PAJ

  12. Berrie:

How it works: you need an MPD server, I think that primarily runs on Linux. MPD is a music player without its own front-end, instead many people have created various types of front-ends (Web, OS X, Windows, PDA etc.) to work with MPD, and MPoD is one of those specifically for the iPhone / iPod Touch.

I can only provide help with this specific client (MPoD), and not with the setup of MPD itself: I don’t have the knowledge or time for that. There is a wiki on MPD that may be a good starting point if you need more info.

  13. GroovyDan:

I second having the option to append tracks to the currently playing list. The client is only marginally useful without it, in my opinion. Great work so far though :)

  14. Berrie:

I never add anything to my playlist, I play full CD’s only. Luckily it’s me who decides whether functionally is useful or not :-).

  15. fizzding:

Artist names in lower case show up under “A” regardless of what letter they actually start with.

Other than that, all is well.

    Thanks

  16. Berrie:

The sorting of artist names will be fixed in v1.1. Also names like The Beatles will appear under ‘B’ then.
